Émergence est une nouvelle série de compétitions de jiu-jitsu brésilien organisée par Horizons Tatamis. Cette série vise à offrir un cadre compétitif structuré, rigoureux et accessible, favorisant le développement des athlètes, dans le respect des standards reconnus du jiu-jitsu brésilien.

Émergence – March 15th 2026
This edition of Émergence will take place on March 15, 2026, at the Centre des loisirs de Saint-Laurent.

The event is open to juvenile and adult athletes (16 years and older) and uses the official categories of the Fédération québécoise de jiu-jitsu brésilien. Competitions will be held in gi and no-gi.

All profits generated by the event will be fully reinvested in supporting the mission of Horizons Tatamis with youth aged 12 to 25.

Competition Rules
Matches will follow the IBJJF ruleset, as applied by the FQJJB. All matches will have a duration of 5 minutes, for all categories. The competition format is double elimination, guaranteeing a minimum of two matches per athlete. Referee decisions are final.

Weigh-ins
Weigh-ins will take place on the day of the event.

Doors open: 9:30 AM
Weigh-ins are conducted with the gi for gi divisions and with no-gi equipment for no-gi divisions, in accordance with FQJJB regulations.
No weight tolerance is allowed.
In the event of a weight limit violation, the athlete may be disqualified.
Schedule and Event Flow
Matches begin at 10:30 AM Detailed schedules for each division will be published on Smoothcomp closer to the event. The organization reserves the right to merge or adjust divisions based on the number of registrations.
Safety and Liability
First aid services will be present on site throughout the event. The liability waiver is signed electronically through the Smoothcomp platform at the time of registration.
